Case management is a computer software tool, which applies project management techniques to a database system and an automatic diary reminder system to legal matters. Linked to word processing and a library of legal precedent letters and forms, case management simplifies the management of any type of legal work which follows a logical pattern.
Case management software is particularly useful in handling large volumes of broadly similar transactions. An electronic file is opened for each legal matter we handle. This transaction is broken down into its consecutive tasks, each allocated to a member of the team who is attainable by email or direct dial telephone number.
Our case management system creates an 'action list' for each member of our team. The 'action list' is made up of all the tasks allocated to that team member in all the case plans they have open. If a task on the action list is not completed on the day it is supposed to, it will show upon the team members 'action list' in red on every subsequent day until completed!
